The Alliant Energy Fifth Season Youth Mile Run is an competitive run for kids ages 7-14.  The youth mile run is underwritten by the RPC Charitable Foundation of Iowa City.  All kids will be chip-timed and receive a commemorative 25^th anniversary race medal for finishing.

START

The start is at Mays Island, 3^rd Avenue Bridge.  Start time is 9 a.m. 

COURSE

The course takes runners and walkers through downtown Cedar Rapids.  
The course features straight out on 3^rd Avenue with a left turn on 8^th Street.
Runners and walkers then turn left on 2^nd Avenue to a straight-away downhill finish near the Alliant Energy Tower.

ENTRY FEE

Entry fee is $10.

Late registration is at packet pickup on July 3.
No race day registration.

PACKET PICKUP

Fifth Season Expo - Registration and Packet Pickup will be held at the Crowne Plaza Five Seasons Hotel, 350 1^st Avenue NE, on July 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Packet Pickup only on July 4^th from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. Shirts, electronic chips, and bib numbers for all entrants can be picked up at these times. Merchandise vendors will be on site. Packet pickup will close July 4 at 8 a.m.

ELECTRONIC CHIP TIMING

All runners in the Youth Mile will be provided a chip which must be affixed to your shoe and returned after you finish. You will be timed according to gun time. Failure to wear or return your chip will result in disqualification. There is a $10 charge for chips not returned. Refer to the back side of chip for mailing address if chip not returned after finish.

SHIRT

Participants receive a commemorative youth race shirt, worth wearing all summer.

POST-RACE PARTY

After the race, let the fun begin at our post-race party!!   Enjoy plenty of food, drink, music and family fun along 1^st Street SE near the Alliant Energy Tower, along the 2^nd Avenue Bridge overlooking the Cedar River.

AWARDS CEREMONY

Our fabulous Fifth Season awards ceremony begins in Ballroom I & II of the Crowne Plaza Five Seasons Hotel at 10:30 a.m. Trophies for boys and girls age divisions in the youth mile race are as follows 7-8 (top 5) 9-10 (top 5), 11-12 (top 5), 13-14 (top 5).
All age division winners in the youth mile will be announced to the crowd, please be present to receive your award and for pictures. Awards can also be picked up at Running Wild-Cedar Rapids at a later date.

A parade just for kids! No need to register. 
Just line up on Mays Island, 3^rd Avenue Bridge and let the good times roll up to 3^rd St SE and over to 2^nd Avenue for a big finish at 2^nd Avenue & 2^nd Street.
