Awards

All awards will be based on gun times. Chip timing will be used for personal verification only.

Awards for male and female age divisions in the 8K race will be as follows:

All overall top ten finishers and top master and grandmaster finishers are ineligible for age division awards in the 8K race. Age group awards will be based on chip time.

Prize Money

Over $14,000 in prize money will be awarded in the 8K race to male and female overall winners, top master (40+), top grandmaster (50+), top 3 Iowa finishers, and top 3 local county finishers. All prize money will be based on gun times.

Overall Winners

$12,000 in prize money will be awarded to the top ten male and female overall finishers in the 8K race as follows:

Masters

$400 in prize money will be awarded to the top master male and female runners (40+) to finish the 8K race as follows: 1^st- $200

$400 in prize money will be awarded to the top grandmaster male and female runners (50+) to finish the 8K race as follows: 1^st- $200

Iowa Runners

$600 in prize money will be awarded to the top three State of Iowa male and female runners to finish outside the top ten in the 8K race as follows:

Local County Runners

$600 in prize money will be awarded to the top Local County male and female runners to finish outside the top ten in the 8K race as follow:

Local county finishers include residents in the eight county area of Linn, Johnson, Buchanan, Delaware, Benton, Jones, Cedar, and Iowa counties.
There will be no doubling of awards to State of Iowa and Local County prize money recipients.

Eligibility

Prize money will be awarded according to USA Track & Field rules. Overall top ten finishers are not eligible for master, grandmaster and state prize monies. Master finisher is age 40 and over. Grandmaster finisher is age 50 and over. No prize money is awarded for the 5K Fun Run/Walk.

High School and NCAA athletes are ineligible to receive prize money. Overall prize money will be forfeited. The next eligible finisher will receive state and local county prize money.

State and local county prize money winners ONLY: race officials will contact you and ask that you provide proof of residency (current driver license, State issued ID, utility bill, or phone bill, etc) within one week following the race before award money is distributed.
