A hometown race with emphasis on family fun and a premier regional event attracting top runners from all over the country.

Kids’ Fun Runs

Kids Fun Run StartKids love the races on the 4th of July! Open to kids 10 and under, they are a great way to teach kids how to live a healthy lifestyle.

Finisher awards and commemorative race T-shirts to all who enter!

Parents may run with their children and strollers are welcome!   Sorry, no pets allowed.  The kids’ fun run is underwritten by KCRG TV-9 & Show You Care Sponsors.

Both races will be run on 12th Ave SE, with the start/finish next to the Chrome Horse Saloon.

The staggered age group start begins with the Little Kids Run.

Little Kid Fun Run

For kids 5 and under, comprised of a 200 yard (1/8 mile) run

Map- kids will run out to a turn around point and come back, crossing the same finish line used for the 8k/5k

Big Kid Fun Run

For kids between 6 and 10, comprised of a 1/4 mile run- they will run out to the turnaround point and come back, utilizing the same start/finish line as the 8k/5k races

Course

The Kids’ Fun Runs will begin and end near the Chrome Horse Saloon, using the official start and finish lines for th 8K. See the course maps for more details.

The entry fee is the same for both the Big and Little Kids Fun Runs

Late registration is at packet pickup on July 3 (11 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and July 4 (6 a.m. to 8 a.m.) Note that on July 4th, you may only register for the Kids’ Fun Runs, NOT the 5K or 8K.

Come enjoy this red, white & blue extravaganza as the kids show us all how to celebrate America with wagons, big wheels, roller blades and bikes.

A parade just for kids! No need to register.
