Alliant Energy 8K Race

The 26th annual Alliant Energy 8K race is THE Fourth of July event for competitive road racing in the Midwest. A new flat and fast course in 2011 will provide the opportunity for great times!

Timing

The 8K race will utilize chip timing. At packet pickup participants will receive an electronic chip that must be worn on your shoe during the race. Scanners will record when you cross the start and finish line, and your personal time will be the difference between the two.

All awards will be based on gun times. Chip timing will be used for personal verification only.

The race is a certified USA Track & Field 8K Race.

The scenic and mostly flat course takes runners and walkers along the Cedar River with an out-and-back course that allows participants a chance to see and be seen! The turn around will be in the brand new Prairie Park Fishery. You’ll get a chance to cheer the leaders and people you know along the way. Enjoy course entertainment all along the route and a great party for the whole family afterwards at The Chrome Horse Saloon.

KZIA 102.9 will be at the post race party with music.
